Bharat Sanghavi, MD, is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology and has been practicing for more than 30 years. At his clinic, Gastroenterology on Gramercy Park in New York City, he performs diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. He specializes in removing polyps from the colon and in noninvasively treating internal hemorrhoids with infrared coagulation and endoscopic banding.

Dr. Sanghavi received his medical degree from Baroda Medical College in Vadodara, India, and he completed his medical training, including his internship and residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in gastroenterology at Cabrini Medical Center in New York City. Currently, he is affiliated with Mt. Sinai Beth Israel in New York City, where he instructs doctors about gastroenterology and liver disease. Because of his distinguished skills, he received a special award for teaching endoscopy to gastroenterology fellows at Beth Israel Medical Center.

Dr. Sanghavi is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the New York County Medical Society. He is also the recipient of several awards from the patient-review website Vitals, including a Patients’ Choice award for excellence as well as awards for compassionate care. He speaks English, Hindi, and Gujarati.
